RCM Engineering’s Thermal Kinetics group offers fully integrated process equipment systems development, detailed equipment design and supply, as well as start-up services. Projects are conducted in an on-site erection and commissioning approach or supplied as fully modularized skid mounted systems.

As a compliment to new equipment systems supply we also offer a plant performance improvement service. We offer site engineering services and optimization studies that help a plant define root causes of production bottlenecks or opportunities for utility optimization and then recommend solutions. We work closely with your plant manager, operators and maintenance staff to collect process documentation, operational information and equipment details.

Then we use the information and insight gained, in conjunction with simulation software, to develop a heat and material balance based on the current configuration and performance. We then compare that to equipment capabilities and industry standard performance using heat exchanger rating and sizing software, among other tools, to identify opportunities for improvement. From this, a plan is developed with you that is specific to your needs and will increase profitability.

Our team offers information management solutions and Integrated Design Engineering to recreate any existing facility into an accurate digital design. Using Building Information Management (BIM) technologies we can design new upgrades and plants with fully integrated engineering, procurement, and construction requirements. The approach facilitates collaboration between the engineering team, the owner and the construction team to develop a design that meets the owner’s requirements and can be constructed within budget and schedule. After construction drawings are generated, the 3D model is brought to construction as a 4D tool. 4D is simply time attached to 3D elements that are used for creating visual 4D schedules where objects on screen appear or disappear during timeline simulation with color codes that show areas that are ahead or behind schedule. Our innovative approach to design and construction includes:
